Two products, one philosophy. A thousand hidden details.

Apple uses two distinct yet coherent approaches to present a software product (Logic Pro) and a hardware product (MacBook Neo). This analysis uncovers the deep patterns that make these pages effective.

Software
Logic Pro

Landing page for Apple's professional DAW. Focus on workflow, creative tools, AI and iPad integration. A narrative arc from beat making to the final mix, with storytelling that follows the musician's creative process.

20+ sections6 navigable tabs7 FAQ
Hardware
MacBook Neo

Landing page for the entry-level MacBook. Focus on design, colors, performance, display and Apple ecosystem integration. Storytelling that starts from the emotion of the first encounter and builds trust progressively.

The page’s Story Arc

Both landing pages follow a precise narrative arc. They aren’t lists of features — they’re stories that guide the user from aspiration to conversion.

The building blocks of an Apple landing page

We identified 10 recurring modules that make up the Apple modular system. Each module has precise rules for layout, content and responsive behavior.

Hero Full-Width

Module Anatomy: Hero Full-Width
Background Video / Animation
Emotional Headline
Subtitle that expands the concept in 8-15 words
Primary CTA
Desktop
80vh, Full Video

Autoplay muted loop video at full resolution. Headline 48-64px centered. Inline CTA button. Light gradient overlay.

Tablet
60vh, Reduced Video

Reduced-resolution video or animated poster. Headline 36-48px. CTA unchanged. Medium gradient overlay.

Mobile
50vh, Poster Image

Static poster image (no video for performance). Headline 28-36px. Full-width CTA. Strong gradient overlay for legibility.

Use

Overview of the main features

5-7 curated items that act as a mental map of the product. The user actively chooses what to explore, increasing engagement and time on page.

Responsive Transformation:

Desktop: Tabs in a fixed row, content side by side

Tablet: Horizontally scrollable tabs, content below

Mobile: Swipeable carousel with dots, content below. Auto-advance disabled.

Split Screen

Use

Feature detail with supporting media

A 50/50 layout that alternates the media side between consecutive sections to create visual rhythm. The text presents the benefit, the media demonstrates it.

Key rules:

Alternation: Media on the right, then left, then right...

Desktop: Side-by-side 50/50

Tablet: Side-by-side 60/40 (larger media)

Mobile: Vertical stack. Media ALWAYS on top. Centered text.

Feature Cards

Feature Cards Grid

3-6 features in a scannable format. Desktop: 3 columns. Tablet: 2. Mobile: 1 or carousel.

Feature Card

Icon/image + title + 2-3 lines of description. White or light gray background. Light shadow on hover.

🎨
Density Rule

Inner padding 32-40px. Gap between cards 24-32px. Titles always 18px bold. Body 14px regular.

📱
Mobile Behavior

On mobile: single-column stack with shadow always visible (not only on hover). Touch target 48px minimum.

Accordion

Use

FAQ and Expandable Details

Standard for FAQs and technical specs. Identical behavior across all breakpoints — it's one of the few modules that doesn't change shape.

Gradient Hero

Anatomy: Gradient Hero (Innovation Signal)
Intelligence
It has music in its DNA.
Feature Card 1
Feature Card 2
Feature Card 3

When to use it: ONLY to signal technological innovation (AI, a revolutionary new feature). Logic Pro uses it for the "Intelligence" section. Don't overuse it: maximum 1 per page. On mobile the gradient compresses vertically and the cards become a stack.

3D Viewer

Hardware Only

3D / AR Product Viewer

Interactive exploration of the physical product. MacBook Neo offers 3D rotation and "See it in your space" in AR. A module exclusive to hardware products.

Responsive:

Desktop: Mouse drag rotation, viewer at 60-80% of viewport width

Mobile: Touch drag + gyroscope. Prominent "View in AR" button. USDZ format for iOS Quick Look.

It doesn’t “adapt”. It transforms.

Apple’s responsive design isn’t simple resizing. Each module undergoes deep structural transformations across the 4 breakpoints. Here’s the complete map.

Asset Strategy

Each image has 3 size variants (small, large, xlarge) with the naming convention {section}_{element}__{hash}_{size}.{ext}. Video: adaptive HLS streaming (.m3u8) for auto-bitrate. On mobile: poster image instead of video to save bandwidth and battery.

Mobile Performance

Lazy loading on everything below the fold. WebP/AVIF with JPG fallback. Video disabled on mobile (static poster). Budget: page <3MB total on mobile. LCP target <2.5s. CLS <0.1 (width/height declared on all images).

Words carry weight. Literally.

Apple typography follows a rigorous scale with precise transformations for each breakpoint. It doesn’t “scale” — it’s rethought.

Headlines: Poetic

Never descriptive. Always evocative and benefit-first. "Music for your ideas" not "Music production software". "Love at first sight" not "Thin and lightweight design".

Body: Concise

Max 3 sentences per block. No jargon. Maximum width 600-680px for optimal legibility (65-75 chars/line). Line-height 1.6 for comfort.

CTA: Actionable

Always verb + benefit. "Try for free", "Discover more", "Take a closer look". Never "Click here" or "More information".

Movement has meaning.

Every Apple animation has a precise purpose. It isn’t decoration — it’s communication. And on mobile, most of it is disabled or simplified.

Scroll-Triggered
Fade In Up

Trigger: viewport intersection at 20%. Duration: 600ms ease-out. Transform: translateY(20px) to 0. Fires only ONCE. Stagger between siblings: 100ms.

Desktop: ActiveMobile: Simplified
Background
Parallax

Hero background moves at 50% of scroll speed. Transform only (GPU accelerated). Will-change: transform declared.

Desktop: ActiveMobile: DISABLED
Interaction
Tab / Accordion Switch

Content cross-fade: 300ms ease-in-out. Accordion expand: 350ms ease. Chevron rotation: synchronized 180 degrees.

Desktop: ActiveMobile: Active
Hover
Card Elevation

Transform: translateY(-4px) + shadow elevation. Duration: 200ms ease. Desktop only (hover doesn't exist on touch).

Desktop: ActiveMobile: N/A (touch)
Golden Rule

Animate ONLY transform and opacity. Never width, height, margin, padding. ALWAYS respect prefers-reduced-motion. On mobile: disable parallax, reduce fade-in, eliminate stagger. Performance > aesthetics.

Software vs Hardware: same language, different accent

Logic Pro and MacBook Neo share the same design system but apply it differently. Understanding when to use what is the key.

Copy doesn’t describe. Copy convinces.

Apple’s content strategy follows a precise pattern: each section builds on the previous one in a “message ladder” that leads from aspiration to action.

Message Ladder

1. ASPIRATION — "What you could do/be"
2. INTRODUCTION — "Here's what it is"
3. OVERVIEW — "Here's what it does (overview)"
4. DEEP DIVE — "Here's HOW it does it (detail)"
5. ECOSYSTEM — "It works with everything else"
6. REASSURANCE — "Secure, private, green"
7. DECISION — "Choose the right model"
8. ACTION — "Buy / Try for free"

Copy Structure per Module

Copy Template

Expansion of the concept in 8-15 words that adds context
Two or three sentences that follow the pattern: benefit for the user, concrete proof of the benefit, implicit invitation to act.
